ATOM is the smallest particles of an element that takes part in a chemical reaction. Element is any substance that can not be split up to obtain any other substance. Every matter on earth is made of atoms of element or elements combined together as compounds or mixture. Everything around you for example, table, the phone or laptop you are reading this from are made from elements such carbon,iron, tin,copper,sulphur etc. Atoms consist of a dense central nucleus, containing protons and neutrons with electrons revolving around this nucleus, like satellites around the earth. The electrons are grouped in shells designated K, L, M, N, etc. in order of increasing distance from the nucleus and energy states of the electron.
